Shawswick Volunteer Fire Departments host Family-Friendly Fall Festival

BEDFORD – The Shawswick and Lawrence County Fire Territory are joining forces to bring seasonal cheer to the community with their upcoming Fall Festival. The event, scheduled for October 31st from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., will be held at 1327 Sunny Acres Drive in Bedford.

This family-oriented celebration promises “Something Fun for Everyone,” featuring a variety of activities and refreshments. Attendees can look forward to Touch-A-Truck experiences and fire station tours, giving children and adults alike an up-close look at emergency response vehicles and facilities. Traditional fall festival games, including cornhole and euchre, will be available, while hungry visitors can enjoy hot dogs, various soups, and Halloween candy.

Notable aspects of this year’s event include the organizers’ commitment to accessibility. The departments offer sensory-friendly appointment options and special accommodations for those with specific needs, demonstrating their dedication to ensuring all community members can participate in the festivities.

The event coincides with traditional trick-or-treating hours, offering families a safe, organized alternative to Halloween evening celebrations. The indoor-outdoor venue at the fire station provides a controlled environment for community gatherings while maintaining the spirit of the season.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact the fire departments directly for more information about sensory-friendly appointments or special accommodations.
