Report a poacher or polluter protects Indiana’s wildlife

INDIANA– The Turn In a Poacher (TIP) program is making strides in protecting Indiana’s fish and wildlife resources by encouraging public involvement in reporting violations. As hunting season approaches, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) emphasizes the importance of community support in safeguarding these precious resources for future generations.

Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts in the field may find evidence of poaching or pollution that can significantly harm local wildlife. The DNR urges individuals to report suspected violations, including instances where wildlife has been hurt or killed due to illegal activities.

If you have information about a poacher or polluter, you can report potential violations by calling 1-800-TIP-IDNR (800-847-4367). The program allows you to remain anonymous, protecting your identity while you help uphold wildlife laws.

In addition to confidentiality, those who provide information that leads to a successful case may be eligible for rewards of up to $500.

For those who prefer to file complaints online, the DNR has made it easy to submit reports through their online form, further streamlining the process of protecting Indiana’s natural resources.

By participating in the TIP program, you play a crucial role in maintaining the health and sustainability of Indiana’s wildlife. Your vigilance can help deter illegal activities and promote a culture of conservation in the state.
