INDIANAPOLIS – A woman was injured when a bullet came through the windshield of the car she was riding in and struck her in the face. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting occurred on I-465 northbound near Pendleton Pike on the east side of Indianapolis at 10:12 p.m. on Friday, October 25.
The victim was in the front passenger seat of a black Toyota minivan. Indiana State Police Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone who was in that area Friday evening and witnessed anything unusual or has in-car camera footage is asked to contact ISP at 317-899-8577.
Investigators do not believe the vehicle the victim was in was involved in any road rage, nor did any of the occupants of that vehicle witness road rage around them. A bullet was recovered from inside the car and submitted to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for examination.
