Robert “Bruce” Bateman, 72, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 10:09 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Bruce was born in Bedford on June 5, 1952, to Rebert and Roma Sue (Sipes) Bateman. Bruce married Virginia “Rachel” Diamond on March 28, 1970, and she survives.
Bruce was the owner of B &D Contracting; he was a graduate of Shoals High School.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Bateman, of Trinity Springs; two daughters, Lori (Jeff) Lundy of Shoals and Missy (Jeff) Buffington of Bedford; four grandchildren, Garrett Bateman, Gage (Kensie) Lundy, Maddie Buffington, and Kramer Buffington; three great-grandchildren, Asher Lundy, Max, and Milo Buffington; and one sister, Susan (Mike) Chastain of Indian Springs.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation was chosen with a celebration of his life at a later date.
