Ronald George Dorsett, 77, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Florida with his loving wife by his side.

Born on February 27, 1947, in Lawrence County, Indiana, Ronnie was the son of the late George Washington and Lona Taflinger Dorsett. Ronnie was a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1965. He retired from General Motors as a tool room welder. He was part-owner of E&R Fabrication.

Ronnie enjoyed golfing, racing, tractor and car restoration, fabrication, and farming. If you could dream it, Ronnie could build it. Ronnie loved and could fix anything with a motor, whether a motorcycle, car, truck, or piece of equipment. In his earlier years, Ronnie also built and raced sprint cars on the Outlaw Series. Ronnie was a Bedford Boat and Sportsman’s Club member, the VFW, and the American Legion.

He met and married the love of his life, Brenda (Thralls) Dorsett, and married April 1, 1966. They created a loving and beautiful life together for over 58 years. Together, they raised their son, Mark, in Mitchell, Indiana.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Brenda, and sister, Kathy (John) Street; brother-in-law, Eddie Thralls; nephews, Chris (Casey) Street, Dustin Street, and Cha Thralls.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his son Mark Dorsett, daughter Kimberly Dorsett, his parents George and Lona Dorsett, Brother-in-Law Alan Thralls, and Mother and Father-in-law Charles and Barbara Thralls.

Cremation was chosen, and there will be no services at this time.
