Super Treat Night continues as Bedford’s top Halloween stop as nearly 3,500 attend

BEDFORD– This year’s Super Treat Night brought smiles, laughter, and thrills to nearly 3,500 kids and parents, marking another successful chapter in the community’s beloved Halloween celebration. With a festive atmosphere, safe setting, and free activities for all ages, Super Treat Night has become a highlight of the fall season, uniting the community in joy and tradition.

The line forms before doors open, awaiting the excitement

“This is one of our most labor-intensive events, but it’s also my absolute favorite,” shared Holly Davis, President and CEO of WQRK/WBIW/WPHZ, who hosts the event annually. “There’s something special about seeing the excitement in the eyes of the kids and knowing we’re providing a safe, welcoming place for families to celebrate together.”

Vendor booths were lit and fully decorated throughout the gym to collect candy and other goodies.

The event’s success would not have been possible without the generous support of local sponsors and the vital partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County, whose central location has become essential to Super Treat Night. Under the leadership of Director Frank Deckard, the Boys and Girls Club once again graciously accommodated the massive setup, which spans nearly two days and requires creative logistical solutions to fit within the Club’s daily operations.

With the scale of this celebration, bringing it to life “takes a village.” The dedication of key staff and volunteers has been instrumental in meeting the event’s high standards and making it a community-wide success. “We are fortunate to have an incredible team of volunteers and staff who give it their all,” Davis noted. “Their commitment and enthusiasm make this event truly memorable.”

Halloweenie Island is always a delight.

One of the most beloved aspects of Super Treat Night is Halloweenie Island, the event’s bustling hub for free hotdogs and water. The event organizer, the WQRK/WBIW/WPHZ radio station staff, faced the daunting task of preparing hundreds of hot dogs without access to a kitchen this year since the club’s kitchen is underway in construction. Thanks to the creativity and hard work of volunteer Carolyn Woolston, the “mastermind and key chef” behind Halloweenie Island, this challenge was expertly managed, providing a steady stream of tasty treats for hungry attendees. The president / CEO of the radio station, Holly Davis, expressed her appreciation for Indiana Limestone’s hotdog specific sponsorship, which allows free hot dogs at no cost to all attendees.

The new costume contests were a hit. This winner collected her prize bucket of Halloween treats.

Three costume contests every hour were new for kids this year. Three winners were chosen in each hourly contest for the following categories: Most Creative, Spookiest Costume, and Funniest Costume. Each winner took home a bucket stuffed with premium sweets.

“It’s an amazing feeling to see families come together for an event that’s safe, free, and full of fun,” Davis added. “Super Treat Night has grown to be a true community celebration, and it’s rewarding to know we’re creating memories that kids and families will cherish.”

WQRK/WBIW/WPHZ radio stations thank all the sponsors for making this year’s event memorable.
