(WESTFIELD) – The Indianapolis Colts continue Training Camp at Grand Park in Westfield, but quarterback Andrew Luck remains on the sidelines.
Luck did not participate in the team’s practice on Tuesday, as he continues to deal with a left calf strain that has been lingering for three months.
“I’ve had x-rays and everything, and my Achilles is not at extra risk,” Luck told reporters. “There is no tear or swelling. It’s a calf strain.”
But he says what he learned during his rehab a year-and-a-half ago when he was coming back from right shoulder surgery is to not skip steps.
“I did a disservice to myself by saying I’d be ready,” Luck said. “The thing with an injury is that bodies don’t care about a date on the calendar.”
Luck will remain cautious and not participate in team practice the rest of this week. He does say he “absolutely” believes he will be ready for week one of the regular season in September.
