Ruby R. Lovell, 80, of Bedford, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at IU Health Hospice House.
Born March 28, 1944, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Chester and Inez (Honeycutt) Sipes. She married Jimmie Lovell on June 20, 1969, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2024. She had been a line worker at Sarkes-Tarzian and later a store manager for Hostess Bakery for 34 years.
Survivors include six children: William Hawkins and wife, Katherine, of Brownstown; Allen Hawkins and companion; Leigh Ann Martin of Seymour; Lisa Hillenburg and husband, Dwayne, of Bedford; James Earl Lovell of Springville; Linda Lovell and companion Terry Graves of Bedford and Carol Stigall and husband, Kim, of Bedford; two sisters, Joann Taylor, of Brownstown and Norma Jean Turner and husband, Mike, of Heltonville; a brother, Raymond Sipes, of Heltonville; a sister-in-law, Linda Sipes; ten grandchildren, Adam Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Kelly Hawkins, Kayla Reed, Tanner Hawkins, JacobiHillenburg, Jareb Hillenburg, Whitney Woerner, Chad Stigall, and Darren Stigall; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Jimmy Sipes and Bobby Sipes; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Sipes and Lenora Sipes; and a brother-in-law, Jake Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Pastor Mark Fugate and Jareb Hillenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15th, and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
