PAOLI- The Paoli Police Department, in partnership with the Criminal Interdiction Unit—a joint task force comprised of all law enforcement agencies in Orange County—continues its aggressive fight against illegal drug activity. Two recent investigations have resulted in significant arrests, sending a strong message that drug trafficking will not be tolerated in our community.
On November 17th, 2024, Narcotics Detective Jacob Babcock and the Criminal Interdiction Unit executed a search warrant at Michel T’s Hotel in French Lick. The operation targeted a room occupied by Paula Dill, a 60-year-old resident of French Lick.
The search uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. During the investigation and subsequent interviews, it was determined that Dill had been distributing methamphetamine to multiple individuals in the Paoli area. She was arrested and now faces the following charges:
- Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 4 Felony)
- Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 5 Felony)
- Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor)
- Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor)
In a separate investigation, the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Highway 150/56, just west of Paoli. Detective Zach Cook, alongside K9 Riggs, played a pivotal role in the operation. After K9 Riggs alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, a vehicle search revealed methamphetamine and marijuana.
David Morris, a 65-year-old resident of Paoli, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)
- Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor)
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
