Mrs. Sheryl Ann Burton of Bedford passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was 66 years old.
Sheryl was born March 7, 1958, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Walter Velandingham and Margaret (Velandingham) Montgomery.
Indiana Lumberman’s Insurance Co. had employed Sheryl for over 10 years and Franciscan Health as a telecommunication Manager for 19 years, retiring in 2017.
Sheryl loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching golf, NASCAR, and basketball. She enjoyed old movies, crossword puzzles, and board games. Her favorite time of the year was getting together with family on Race Day.
Sheryl dearly loved her family and will be remembered as a wonderful mother and very caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Always keeping in touch and offering to help others. She was particularly intrigued by our family heritage history.
Sheryl is survived by her son, Greg Burton; stepchildren Joy Summers, Jill Glass, and Jane Wetzel; stepfather Clarence (Monty) Montgomery; siblings Debra (Terry) Kelso, Rick Velandingham, Mark (Barb) Velandingham, and Eric (Heidi)Velandingham; stepbrother Tim Huber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Burton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
