DAVESS CO. — Indiana Conservation Officers arrested four men on Sunday for jacklighting and several other hunting-related charges in Daviess County.
Backlighting, also known as spotlighting, is the illegal practice of shining a light into a forest or field at night to locate and temporarily blind animals, making it easier for hunters to capture or kill them.
The men arrested include:
- 48-year-old Biak Hu of Indianapolis
- 40-year-old Muang Hu of Greenwood
- 34-year-old RO Hmung Lian of Indianapolis
- 40-year-old Biak Sang of Greenwood
In addition to charges of jacklighting, both Biak Hu and Muang Hu are facing charges related to transport tag violations and illegal possession of whitetail deer.
RO Hmung Lian faces multiple additional charges, including shooting from the roadway, hunting with the aid of a motorized conveyance, illegal take, hunting after legal hours, and a transport tag violation.
Biak Sang is charged with hunting with the aid of a motorized conveyance.
All four men were released from the Daviess County Security Center after posting $5,000 bonds.
Indiana Conservation Officers continue investigating the case, and additional charges may follow. Jacklighting and other hunting violations are taken seriously as they undermine wildlife protection efforts and conservation laws.
