BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners have approved the donation of a Generac 58751 generator to the Town of Oolitic. The Health Department recognized the need for a generator at the Oolitic Marshal’s Office and donated the unit to assist the town. To formalize the transfer, the Lawrence County Commissioners signed an interlocal governmental agreement to transfer ownership of the generator to Oolitic.

The donation now awaits approval from the Oolitic Town Council, which will vote on whether to accept it. If accepted, the generator will provide essential backup power for the Marshall’s Office, ensuring continued service during emergencies or power outages.

The collaborative effort between the county and the town demonstrates a commitment to supporting local communities with vital resources.
