One dead after single-vehicle crash in Daviess County

DAVIESS CO.– A 76-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Daviess County on Monday evening.

The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. on I-69 near the 55-mile marker. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, where they found the driver, Philip Wolter, from Nashville, Indiana, trapped inside his vehicle.

According to authorities, Wolter had left the roadway, causing his vehicle to overturn. Emergency crews quickly responded and transported him to the hospital. However, despite efforts to save him, Wolter was later pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
