WASHINGTON – Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101 will host its 34th Annual Cops and Kids event on December 19th at the Washington Walmart.
For the past 33 years, local, state, and federal law enforcement officers, fire department personnel, court staff, and other first responders have come together to provide Christmas gifts for children in need from Daviess and Martin counties.
The event focuses on purchasing essential clothing and requested toys for children enrolled in Head Start and Kidstuff programs. Organizers hope to collect enough donations to provide $200 per child, allowing for gifts and necessities for approximately 135 children.
Donations for the Cops and Kids program are being accepted in person and by mail at police and sheriff’s departments throughout Daviess and Martin counties. Checks should be made payable to FOP Cops and Kids.
