BEDFORD— Bedford Revitalization Inc. kicked off the holiday season in style on Saturday, December 7, with the 2024 Christmas Parade, which featured a variety of creative floats, music, and festive displays.
The event also marked the announcement of the 2024 downtown Bedford window decorating contest winners and the recognition of community participants in the parade.
Bob B. Bridge Named 2024 Bedford Christmas Parade Grand Marshal
The highlight of the event was the recognition of Bob B. Bridge, who was honored as the 2024 Grand Marshal of the Bedford Christmas Parade. Bridge was celebrated for his longstanding contributions to the Bedford community.
The former sports editor and columnist for the Bedford Times-Mail, Bridge covered numerous BNL state championship seasons and was inducted into the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Hall of Fame in 2005.
The lighting of the Lawrence County Courthouse and lawn followed.
2024 Downtown Bedford Window Decorating Contest Winners
The annual window decorating contest brought out the best in local businesses, with the following winners announced:
- 1st Place: Lawrence County Clerk & Voter Registration
- 2nd Place: Turner Contracting Inc
- 3rd Place: Star City Thrift
The contest helped bring the holiday spirit to downtown Bedford, with festive displays lighting up storefronts across the area. BRI extends a heartfelt thank you to all who participated and helped make downtown Bedford shine.
