BEDFORD—An Elizabeth man has been sentenced to prison after failing to comply with the terms of his probation. On Thursday, December 5, Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced Zachary Behr, 31, to serve time at the Indiana Department of Correction.
Behr had previously pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on December 14, 2023, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. Behr was sentenced to 730 days as part of the agreement, with 716 days suspended. He was also ordered to serve 545 days on supervised probation.
However, Behr’s probation was cut short after he failed to comply with the court’s conditions. On December 5, 2024, Judge Cline terminated Behr’s probation unsuccessfully, sentencing him to serve 714 days in prison at the Indiana Department of Correction.
The State was represented by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Meza, who presented the case before the court. Behr’s violation of probation terms, which included failure to meet the requirements for drug treatment and other court-mandated conditions, ultimately led to his incarceration.
