WABASH CO. – Sunday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., an off-duty Indiana State Police trooper from the Peru Post discovered a fatal single-vehicle crash near the 5000 block of County Road 300 West in Wabash County.
A preliminary investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team revealed that a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling northbound on County Road 300 West when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the west side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, lost control, and slid sideways off the road, striking a tree on the driver’s side.
Both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Wabash County Coroner’s Office. The driver has been identified as Sean Murray Jr., 16, of Wabash, and the passenger as Kameron Garriott, 19, of Andrews. Notifications to the next of kin have been made.
The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was assisted at the scene by troopers from the Peru Post, the Wabash County Coroner’s Office, the Noble Township Fire Department, Wabash County EMS, and Rick’s Towing.
This crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available now.
