SPARK Jackson County announces energy grant winners

JACKSON COUNTY— SPARK Jackson County has announced the winners of its first-ever SPARK ENERGY Innovation Challenge, a competition sponsored by Duke Energy to inspire creative solutions in renewable energy and sustainability.

Local entrepreneurs Stephanie Strothmann and Jessica Bowman were selected as the $2,000 grand prize winners for their innovative ideas. The announcement came during a recent open house celebrating the opening of the SPARK Shop, a new collaborative space to support entrepreneurship and creativity in the community.

According to the Jackson County Chamber, the SPARK ENERGY Innovation Challenge is a platform for local innovators to bring creative solutions to pressing environmental and energy challenges.

The SPARK Shop, the centerpiece of this new initiative, offers resources, networking opportunities, and shared workspace for community members to connect and bring ideas to life.
