TERRE HAUTE — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) are jointly offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the burglary of Wabash Valley Armory in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The burglary occurred early Thursday morning, December 19, at approximately 4:30 a.m., when one or more individuals broke into the firearms business located at 3203 South 7th Street and stole several firearms. The ATF and NSSF are actively seeking information regarding the perpetrators’ identity and whereabouts, as well as details about two vehicles believed to be involved in the crime: a gray 2015 Nissan Pathfinder and a maroon 2007 Chevrolet Malibu.
ATF’s Columbus Field Division is leading the investigation in collaboration with the Terre Haute Police Department.
“We are committed to working with local law enforcement to identify and apprehend those responsible for this crime,” said ATF Columbus Field Division Special Agent in Charge. “The theft of firearms is a serious matter, and we are offering this reward to encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
This reward initiative is part of a broader national effort between the NSSF and ATF to combat the theft of firearms from federally licensed retailers. The NSSF, a trade association for the firearms industry, matches ATF rewards in these types of cases to help reduce the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to contact the ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477), email ATFTips@atf.gov, or submit tips through the ATF website at www.atf.gov/contact/atf-tips.
