BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University Bloomington is facing a federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Education for allegedly failing to protect Jewish students from antisemitism.
The investigation comes amidst a backdrop of numerous pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus throughout the past year, some of which resulted in clashes between protesters and police.
IU is one of 60 nationwide educational institutions under investigation by the Department of Education. These investigations stem from concerns that schools are not adequately addressing antisemitism on their campuses.
The Department of Education has warned that schools found to be non-compliant with the Trump administration’s crackdown on antisemitism could face consequences.
