CAMPBELLSBURG—After a year-long restoration project, the historic John T.C. Wilkins House in Campbellsburg, Indiana, has been transformed and is now for sale. Indiana Landmarks, which acquired the endangered property in 2023, has completed a full restoration, restoring the Queen Anne-style home to its original splendor.

Built in 1858 and later renovated in the late 1890s using designs from architect George F. Barber’s pattern books, the house features unique architectural details like horseshoe-shaped stained-glass windows and an ornate oak staircase. Indiana Landmarks repaired the exterior, installed a new roof and systems, and renovated the interior, creating a modern living space while preserving its historic charm.
The 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home, corner store, and outbuildings are listed for $325,000 through Cambron Realty. Notably, two other Wilkins family homes in Campbellsburg, also designed by Barber, are currently on the market, presenting a rare opportunity for preservation-minded buyers.

Indiana Landmarks hopes the restored John T.C. Wilkins House and the sale of the other two homes will attract buyers committed to preserving these historic landmarks. The property will be sold with preservation covenants to ensure its architectural integrity for future generations.
