(MARTINSVILLE) – Bedford North Lawrence’s team score wasn’t eye pleasing, but the result was satisfactory as the Stars stopped Martinsville 187-200 during girls high school golf action on the front nine of Foxcliff Golf Club on Thursday afternoon.
Olivia Sanders paced the Stars and earned medalist honors with a 42 (including four pars) on the par-36 layout. Ashley Chase added a 44.
“That’s probably as poor a number as we could shoot at this point,” BNL coach Aaron Sanders said. “Olivia hit a lot of good shots, and Ashley was solid off the tee, yet we weren’t scoring.
“We’ll chalk it up as another experience and get back to work. At this point, we can’t shoot that kind of number.”
Addyson Bailey carded 49 and Kennedy Blair, with her best putting round of the season, posted a 52 to complete the BNL scoring. Daphney Sproles had a career-best 59.
Millie Foley led the Artesians with 46 while Brianna Payne finished with 47.
The Stars will host Seymour on Tuesday.
