(MADISON) – Madison’s Claire Bilz recorded the lone goal as the Cubs clipped Bedford North Lawrence 1-0 during girls high school soccer action on Saturday.
Bilz scored in the 39th minute, and Madison turned away the understaffed Stars, who played without five starters, in the second half.
“We played hard, had lots of chances to get it even, but couldn’t find the back of the net,” BNL coach D.J. West said. “I thought the backups came in and played to the best of their ability.”
BNL (0-6 overall, 0-5 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) will visit Brown County on Monday.
