(BEDFORD) – Jeffersonville’s Jose Guillen scored twice as the Red Devils shut down Bedford North Lawrence 3-0 during boys high school soccer action on Saturday.
Guillen snapped home his first (off an assist from Drew Gerritsen) with a left-footed rip just 80 seconds into the match. He added his second with 37:39 left in the second half, cracking a shot that BNL goalie Tanner Robbins deflected off the crossbar before the ball spun backward into the net.
Josh Walter capped the scoring for Jeffersonville at 27:18, sending in a short-range free kick.
The Stars (7-5-1 overall, 1-3-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) struggled to generate offense and managed only three shots.
“We didn’t come out with aggression,” BNL coach Logan Jackson said. “We didn’t play bad, but we just struggled to move it. We had issues getting good looks. It was an uphill battle.”
BNL will visit Brown County on Monday.
