(SEYMOUR) – Seymour claimed third place in the Hoosier Hills Conference with a 5-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence in the consolation round of the league tournament on Friday afternoon.
The Stars (11-10) put up a fight on only one court after pressing Seymour during a 3-2 loss to the Owls on Sept. 5.
Seymour’s Vincent Camboulas bounced Cade Provo 6-0, 6-2 at No.1 singles, Isaac Hardin stopped Adam Tlustek 6-2, 6-1 at No.2, and Braden Handloser handled Graham Turner 6-2, 6-2 at No.3.
The most competitive match came at No.2 doubles as Seymour’s Trey Hohenstreiter and Andrew Levine fought off Konley Woodward and Steven Graham 7-6 (7-4 in the tiebreaker), 6-2. The Owls also won at No.1 doubles as Will Rinehart and Brandon Hubbard topped Wyatt Scherschel and Cameron Gratzer 6-1, 6-1.
The Stars will host Edgewood on Monday.
