(SELLERSBURG) – Silver Creek’s Vic Hutchings scored the lone goal as the Dragons clipped Bedford North Lawrence 1-0 during girls high school soccer action on Saturday.
Hutchings found the back of the net with 29:30 left to help Silver Creek (6-7) celebrate its Alumni Day with a victory.
“It was hard fought and well played by both sides,” BNL coach D.J. West said. “We had some good chances to go ahead in the first half but the shots went just wide or over.
“In the second half I would have liked to have seen us generate more offense. I was proud of the girls’ effort, given the heat. We played well enough to get a result but sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way.”
The Stars (2-9) will host Edgewood and celebrate Senior Night on Monday.
