Five questions with Bedford North Lawrence senior Hallee Gabhart
Sport: tennis; Career choice: cognitive science; College: Indiana University
Question 1: What will you miss most about high school?
Gabhart: I’ll miss the people the most, students and teachers. Sure, we might all keep in touch to some extent, but nothing will be the same as sitting in your favorite teacher’s class with your best friends.
Question 2: Who has been your role model?
Gabhart: There are two women I look up to – my mom, Erika Ford, and my aunt, Lisa Roeder. Both of these women are strong and independent, yet the most caring people I have met. I love and admire both tremendously.
Question 3: Can you describe your emotions when the tennis season was cancelled?
Gabhart: I was devastated. I realized that I took the last three years of tennis for granted and would do anything to go back.
Question 4: What did you love about tennis?
Gabhart: I loved the challenge. Tennis made me push myself and grow, both mentally and physically.
Question 5: As the restrictions are lifted, who was the first person you wanted to see?
Gabhart: The first people I plan on visiting are Aunt Lisa and Uncle Craig, because they are my safe place and sounding board.
