GALENA – Floyd Central overmatched Bedford North Lawrence for a 9-0 triumph during girls high school soccer action on Tuesday night.
The Stars (0-3, 0-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) could not stop the Highlanders on one end, and struggled for scoring chances on the other.
“It was a rough night,” BNL coach D.J. West said. “When you are overwhelmed by a better team, it starts to snowball on you and that happened to us.
“Right now we are just behind the other teams we play because of our depth and the fact our girls just play high school soccer. So when we get against these better teams, where most of their girls are playing year round, it’s tough for us to keep up.
“I will say the girls never quit. We are going to get back to work and try to get better.”
BNL will visit New Albany (and its new turf field) on Saturday.
